Advantage+ Placements

Advantage+ placements, formerly automatic placements, let Meta distribute your ads across all eligible placements — Facebook and Instagram Feeds, Stories, Reels, Messenger, and Audience Network — wherever they're likely to perform best.

Rather than choosing each placement manually, Advantage+ placements give Meta's system the full inventory and let it allocate budget dynamically. Broader placement options generally lower costs, because the system can find cheaper impressions and conversions across more surfaces. You can still apply exclusions, such as removing Audience Network or using block lists.

The key to making placements work is creative built for each format: square or vertical for Feeds, full-screen 9:16 vertical for Stories and Reels. Placement asset customization lets you upload different versions so each placement shows the right shape instead of an awkwardly cropped one.

Example

A campaign using Advantage+ placements shifts most of its spend into Instagram Reels after Meta finds that's where cost per lead is lowest.

How Sloss Digital uses it

We generally run Advantage+ placements with creative cut for every format, and apply brand-safety exclusions and block lists where a client needs them.
