Meta Audience Network

Meta Audience Network is a placement that extends Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns to thousands of third-party mobile apps, using the same targeting and measurement.

Audience Network lets your ads appear in partner apps — games, utilities, news apps, and more — as native, banner, interstitial, and rewarded-video ads. It increases reach and often costs less per impression than Meta's own apps, and it's included automatically when you use Advantage+ placements.

Quality varies widely across third-party apps, and accidental clicks can inflate traffic metrics. Campaigns optimizing for real conversions are usually handled well by the algorithm, but those optimizing for clicks — or with strict brand-safety needs — should review placement breakdowns and use block lists or exclusions.

Example

A placement breakdown shows a campaign's Audience Network clicks are cheap but rarely convert, so the advertiser adds a block list for low-quality apps.

How Sloss Digital uses it

We allow Audience Network when campaigns optimize for conversions, monitor placement reports, and exclude it or apply block lists when quality or brand safety calls for it.
