Display Campaigns

Display campaigns are the Google Ads campaign type that shows visual ads across the Google Display Network — millions of websites, apps, and Google properties like Gmail and YouTube.

The Google Display Network reaches the vast majority of internet users across news sites, blogs, apps, and other publishers. Display campaigns typically use responsive display ads: you upload images, logos, headlines, and descriptions, and Google assembles ads that fit each placement. Targeting can be based on audiences (remarketing, in-market, custom segments), content (topics and keywords), or specific placements.

Display is rarely the most efficient channel for direct lead generation, but it excels at remarketing and at building inexpensive reach. Its main risk is low-quality placements — especially mobile apps and made-for-advertising sites — so placement exclusions, content controls, and frequency management are essential.

Example

A dental practice runs a Display remarketing campaign that shows a 'new patient special' image ad to people who visited its website in the last 30 days.

How Sloss Digital uses it
