Boosted Posts

A boosted post is an existing organic Facebook or Instagram post that you pay to show to more people, created through a simplified flow rather than the full Meta Ads Manager.

Boosting is the simplest way to advertise on Meta: choose a post, a goal, an audience, a budget, and a duration. It's quick and keeps the post's existing likes and comments, which adds social proof. Boosts can drive engagement, profile visits, messages, or website visits.

The trade-off is limited control. Boosted posts offer fewer objectives, optimization options, and placements than Ads Manager, and they're often optimized for engagement rather than conversions. They're fine for amplifying great content; for leads and sales, a properly built Ads Manager campaign almost always performs better.

Example

A nonprofit boosts a well-performing post about its annual fundraiser to people within 25 miles for $100 over five days.

How Sloss Digital uses it

We use boosts sparingly to amplify standout organic content, and build lead and sales campaigns in Ads Manager — often using the same strong post as the ad.
