Google Merchant Center

Google Merchant Center is the Google platform where retailers upload and manage their product data feed — titles, prices, images, availability — which powers Shopping ads, Performance Max retail campaigns, and free product listings.

Your Merchant Center feed is effectively your ad copy for Shopping. Each product's title, description, price, image, brand, GTIN, and attributes determine which searches it appears for and how it looks. Feeds can be submitted by file, scheduled fetch, API, or e-commerce platform integrations such as Shopify, and Google reviews them for policy and data-quality issues.

Feed optimization is one of the biggest levers in e-commerce advertising: keyword-rich titles, complete attributes, high-quality images, and accurate pricing and availability improve relevance and click-through. Merchant Center also powers free listings, promotions, product ratings, and local inventory ads.

Example

A boutique rewrites a product title from 'The Ava' to 'Ava Women's Linen Wrap Dress — Sage Green' and sees Shopping impressions and clicks rise.
