Glossary

CTV (Connected TV)

CTV (connected TV) is television content streamed over the internet on a smart TV or device, where ads can be targeted by household and measured like digital.

Connected TV refers to any television set connected to the internet — directly as a smart TV or via a device like Roku, Apple TV, or a game console — used to stream content through apps. CTV advertising places video ads within that streaming content.

Unlike traditional TV, CTV lets advertisers target specific households by location, demographics, and interests, and measure outcomes such as site visits and conversions. It brings the precision and accountability of digital advertising to the biggest screen in the home.

Example

Running a non-skippable video ad to households in your service area while they stream a show on an ad-supported tier of a streaming app is CTV advertising.

How Sloss Digital uses it

We use CTV to give local and regional advertisers premium, targeted TV presence with measurable results, then retarget exposed households across their other devices.
