CTR (Click-Through Rate)

CTR (click-through rate) is the percentage of people who click an ad after seeing it, calculated as clicks divided by impressions.

Click-through rate measures how compelling and relevant your ad is to the audience seeing it. A higher CTR generally signals that your messaging matches searcher intent, and on platforms like Google it can improve Quality Score and lower your costs.

But CTR is a means, not an end. A high CTR that sends unqualified traffic to a weak landing page won't generate leads or sales. We treat CTR as a diagnostic signal on the way to the metrics that matter: qualified leads and return on ad spend.

Example

If your ad is shown 5,000 times and gets 150 clicks, your CTR is 3% (150 ÷ 5,000).

How Sloss Digital uses it

We use CTR to diagnose ad relevance and creative performance, improving messaging and targeting — then judge success by conversions, not clicks alone.
